wow, so much has happened with my day 4 experience. I have realized that I have an 'allergic' or negative reaction to sugar. (when I did research about 50+ conditions are linked to our American volume of sugar intake. Google it, it will shock you. This includes: I talk quieter (literally it was like a small yell at all times, my whole life), I thought I was 'tired' or something, which is that I am actually relaxed now without a medication, yoga or mediation of any kind. Again, the 1st time in my whole life I can remember feeling this way. I am not as reactive to normal instigators. ( don't get pissed off quite as easily or nearly as much). WOW, all that in 4 days! I always thought my issues were with caffeine, and while yes, in too large of doses it is bad for me, it was actually all the sugar in EVERYTHING! I was eating that was the REAL problem it seems to be! I cannot freakin' believe it! I'm so, SO happy I decided to make this change in my lifestyle.
** Just threw out everything in the house with corn by-products (that's a whole other monster) and sugar, threw away 3 garbage bags worth! And I thought we were eating 'healthy'. No wonder we couldn't lose any more weight!**
I'm continuing to read Plan-D and now to further my knowledge of food, I decided to buckle down and watch Food, Inc. I didn't read Fast Food Nation, but boy, this movie sealed the deal for me. I will continue to clean up my diet, and the products in my home. I don't trust our government standards to protect us, so now I am taking it into my own hands. And that's for another post.
Back to Ideal Protein, I am really beginning to see some very positive sides effects of this choice. I am starting to feel pretty great, still a little 'foggy' headed due to low carb intake right now from grains, but eating a ton of veggies, my appetite is shrinking and I can't even finish lunch and now dinner. Try really hard as this is already a low calorie diet, but can't, or I'll explode it feels. This is awesome for when I get off this diet, as my new appetite with have adjusted accordingly for a healthier life style. I'M SO EXCITED!!! :) ( can you tell?!?)
The cravings today: Not too bad, I did want grains pretty bad. i only eat whole grains anyways, but since they aren't allowed right now, I have to be patient. 2 months for a life time of great health. I actually read/ heard today ( have been getting into so much data today), that your body actually has to detox from sugar (mainly), processed foods, fast food fat. These ingredients are all so bad for you, no wonder everyone feels like poop as they get to their 40's and beyond. The bodies all 'junked' up. SO, I'm very happy this is a an active part of this process. I am doing this for my current health, my future child's health, and my future health as I continue to get older. I will do what i can to have optimal health, and ensure a bright future.
So far, I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Not 5 as I'm completely crazy about some of the foods, but I'd probably still eat most of them as snacks and travel foods as they are healthy and easy to make.
