Ideal Protein diet DAY 3

day 2 was not completely unexpected, but I was a little shocked as to how much I would have cravings. Day 3 is much better! SO happy about that. I went to bed with the thought that I would wake up and they would be gone, at least mostly. And they are!

I ate the egg creation again, not so bad, didn't cook it as much, it was much better! I relaxed today, as is usual for Sunday's. Didn't even feel the need to workout, just did some light yoga and stretches. Very important during a cleanse to keep your body limber, helps cleanse your system and release tension that may build up during this process. (my own beliefs) Plus yoga is so awesome and mind cleansing, why not work on both a little?

I did have a moment middle of the day where no food was filling me. I drank coffee, helps to stop some of the hunger pangs. They say you can eat unlimited lettuce, but I am not a 'straight lettuce' kind of girl and the sauces right now, not too accustomed, so waiting until my energy levels out to experiment with making acceptable but yummy inventions I found on the web. Actually really good stuff! Tried the lettuce wraps tonight, my own version and it was awesome! (used butter lettuce, 5 oz. of chicken with various seasonings, no oil on the chicken, water chestnuts, grilled green pepper, and raw chives with tiny splash Tamari sauce). Loved it! Will use some of these recipes even after this diet!

I really like the chocolate drink, tastes like a slightly lighter version of chocolate milk. Also like the soups, the chicken and mushroom and yummy. The jello rocks, the yogurt, doesn't completely taste like yogurt (no pro-biotics from what I can tell, but the taste isn't bad). All these things helped with my sweet tooth (even though 2nd day I still craved a piece of real milk chocolate badly), they do take the edge off. Will be using some of these products after this is all over, I see how I can incorporate them into my daily grind!

So, 3rd day, not bad! And from what I weighed the 1st day to now, looks like 5 lbs has gone, water weight mostly, I eat TONS of salt normally! Which gives me the indication that is starting to work. Cant wait for day 4, apparently fat burning starts around then, that's when you lose real fat!

During this process I happen to pick up and start reading: Plan-D by Dee Maccaffrey. Her eating concept is based upon the very things this diet instills. Keeping your body pH alkaline (which this does), eating foods in it's purest sense, and no sugar. While this diet goes against some of what she says, I know eating her way after, will be to the benefit of my weight AND my health in the long run as sugar and processed foods are responsible for the majority of our illnesses, which I have always firmly believed but never really followed well. I think, blind ignorance, or playing that way, was my mode of operation on this matter prior to this diet. In fact, I ate my very last McDonalds meal the day before starting. I never want to taste that sugar laden junk food ever again!

I chose the Ideal Protein diet, for a few other reasons other than wanting to do it now, or because it's provided by my chiropractor. I wanted to jump start my fat burning, get my sugar levels regulated and get my liver working at optimal levels. I tried to follow the guide of a certified nutritionist this last time (From May to August, 2009) and even though I counted every single calorie and protein, carb and fat, I only lost 5 lbs and think that was because I quit taking my oral birth control. I was toning up slightly, but my clothes still didn't fit well and I was still unhappy. I wanted to see results faster, but how without losing muscle mass? Ideal protein is engineered to lose fat, not muscle. Awesome! After I saw how great my Dr. looks, and that I could do what I'd always hoped to do: get this fat off, and start with a lean body to build muscle on, I knew I had found my answer. This product and process is geared to weaning you off the meal replacements and get you to eating regular food, but with the guidelines in mind of how to eat now. Healthy, no sugar, whole veggies, portion control, and time of eating. As it is said and known: you have to eat to lose weight. I eat ALL the time! in fact, during this time of the diet, I wont be able to eat out really. Doesn't worry me, I will me marking boundaries out of necessity which will allow me to do so personally. I have always wanted to stand my ground more with my health, but others pressure would get to me and i give in. NOT NOW! I will look awesome and know what it takes to stay that way and be healthy! I really, REALLY want to appreciate my thin self and take the time to enjoy my new body, unlike the 1st time, when I thought, Great! lost weight! now eat junk food! (NO!)

It's for me only, not anyone else. So if there are any nay-sayers who want to see make me fail, I say, 'Good riddance', have a happy, unhealthy life on your own. I can't make others see the fault in their diet and unhealthy ways, I can only live to be the example others need to see. I hope to find great success in this and help others achieve self appreciation like I am.
